    In California, foreclosures are often handled out of court. Throughout the cycle, there is a pre-foreclosure, which occurs if the lender(s) choose the deficiency judgments. Throughout the process, the borrower has one year to compensate for his or her assets after the removal of the rights to redeem the mortgage, or sale.
